Harry Nelson has been invited by the Los Angeles County Medical Association to address physicians on “Opportunities Serving Latino Patients”. The event, October 24, 2013 at the Los Angeles Athletic Club will focus on challenges and opportunities presented by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), with specific focus on the needs of the Latino community.
The ACA is anticipated to extend coverage to over 10 million Latino Americans through both the subsidized coverage available on the healthcare exchanges and the expansion of the Medicaid Program, with Los Angeles as the single-largest market nationwide. Mr. Nelson’s remarks will focus on how physicians can seize opportunities in both large and small physician organizations, and dealing with issues like the emergence of “narrow networks” and the transition of dual eligible (Medi-Medi) patients into managed care networks.
