Partner Sara Hersh has qualified by the California Society of Healthcare Attorneys (CSHA) to serve as a Hearing Officer in medical staff peer review hearings. To be one of the 14 Hearing Officers on the general list, Sara was required to attest to her familiarity with the current statutes, regulations, cases, common bylaws and other provisions governing medical staff peer review in California.
Sara regularly represents medical staffs of hospitals and hospital systems, provides legal counsel in matters involving medical staff governance, staff privileges, medical staff bylaws/rules, policies and procedures, corrective actions and fair hearings. She also defends doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers in licensing matters before their licensing boards. During her 30 plus years of practice, Sara has actively defended clients in all phases of civil litigation from complaint through binding arbitration, trial and appeal.
For the second year, Sara was also named to the Southern California Super Lawyers list for her specialty in healthcare law. Each candidate for Super Lawyers is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only 5% of attorneys in Southern California receive this distinction.
Sara is also a member of the editorial board of CSHA.
